FS125 & A Giveaway!

Hey! This is for today's featured stamper challenge which is DawnL! I chose to CASE this card of hers. I changed around the colors and adjusted the layout a little and used a different image. Isn't this new set from There She Goes gorgeous? I seriously can't get enough of it! I absolutely LOVE these floral images and the font of the sentiments is TOO cute! :)

Okay, now onto the good stuff! So last month, I thought I lost one of my favorite There She Goes sets called Acts of Kindness. I looked HIGH AND LOW for it. I ripped apart my entire stamp room! Then, I finally realized that it was gone...maybe it had gotten thrown away by accident...it's been known to happen! LOL! So I contacted Jessica and cried that I needed a new set and she sent me one lickety split! In the meantime, I found the set I had stuffed in the back of my Nestabilities drawer! What was it doing there?

Anyways, my absent-mindedness is your gain today! To celebrate 30,000 hits on my blog, I'm giving away this extra set I have! YAY! All you have to do is leave a comment...doesn't matter what just say something! I will keep it open until Tuesday evening when I will draw a winner for the set! :)

Thank you to everyone who comes and visits me! I so appreciate it! :)

Introducing Bloom!

Hello and welcome to the Bloom blog hop! If you're just joining us for the blog hop, it started at Jessica's blog and you probably came from Jodi's blog. So have you loved the samples so far? This set is truly very beautiful. The flowers in the set are realistic and the sentiments that go along with it are also quite beautiful!

For this card, I used one of my favorite color combos...New Leaf, Berry Sorbet, and Kraft.

Be sure to head over to Maki's blog now...you won't want to miss out on her creation! :)

Be sure to hop around and leave comments on each blog...then hop back to Jessica's and leave your name in the Mr. Linky for your chance to win this set! :)

TSG11 - Life's a Beach!

OMGOSH! I love this set! I'm glad you could make it from my girl Jodi's blog! :) If you're just stopping by, welcome to the There She Goes July release blog hop! Today I bring you a brand new set called Life's a Beach. If you've joined us before, you know the routine. If you're new to the hop, note that you can have a chance to win this new set by hopping along and leaving a comment on each one of the Trendsetter's blogs. Then swing back to Jessica's blog and leave your name in the Mr. Linky. One random winner will be chosen to win this set!

There's also another chance to win. For the challenge TSG11, all you have to do is create a card that is not a standard square or A2. For this card, I simply used my Nestabilities to create a scalloped circle. I added some kraft and melon mambo cardstock and don't forget the ADORABLE drink image from the new set. I colored the drink with Copics and added some ribbon (of course) and rhinestones.

Now it's your turn...create a card for TSG11 and link it up to Jessica's blog. One winner will be chosen to win one of the new released of their choice! And if you think this one is great...wait until tomorrow! ;)

Be sure to head to Maki's blog to see what she's done with the new set! :) And don't forget to stop at Sandra's blog and welcome her as the Guest Trendsetter for July! Welcome, Sandra!

Thanks for stopping!

Hello! I made this quick card for Taylor's sketch challenge. I decided to try out one of those funny crumply flowers that I see everywhere now...obviously mine needs a little bit of work! LOL! I wasn't even going to post this card but I figured why not? It's fair to say that everyone has some messed-up cards once in a awhile and maybe someone will get something from it, right? :)

Thanks for stopping by, and stop back tomorrow AM for a Stamps and Smiles sketch card! :)

The color challenge is Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #10. The colors are dark chocolate, melon berry, berry sorbet, and rustic vanilla. I added a few piercing to the sentiment panel and the scallops on the bottom. Finally I added one scored line across the bottom of the card.

IC185 - Way to go!

Happy Saturday! I have a quick post today, as I'm off to enjoy what little we get of a gorgeous Minnesota summer! :) I made this quickie for a graduation party today for a guy. I'm not quite sure if it's too feminine or not, but OH WELL! :) I combined some fun colors for this card: Papertrey Ink New Leaf, and some new SU In Colors: Soft Suede and Crushed Curry! The stamps are from the awesome (sorta still new) set from Papertrey Ink called Star Prints. The ink is Soft Suede.

CAS19 - Live Laugh Love

It's TRUE!! I've crossed over to the dark side! These CAS (Clean & Simple) challenges have been taunting me for 19 long weeks and I finally decided ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I can do this!! LOL! You know what? This card took me LESS than 10 minutes to make. If you count all the time I spent hemming and hawing over whether or not to add more embellishments and cover up all that WHITE SPACE, I bet it took me 5 minutes! :)

Seriously, though...it wasn't that bad and who knows...maybe I'll play in their challenges again sometime...

Introducing Garden Gate!

Welcome to the preview for Garden Gate; a new set available from Little Paper Shop tomorrow! I had the hardest time getting a decent picture of this card...I think because of the soft stone and lemon tart. The smokey shadow was easy to pick up but the others not so much. Anyways...are you interested in winning this set? There are two ways today...

Head over the Little Paper Shop blog where one random winner will be chosen from the comments to win this set. Another way to win is to participate in today Monday challenge which is to add texture to your card. You can see I added some dry embossing using the Cuttlebug argyle folder. Also, don't forget that for the first week of the release, both new sets will be available for 10% off! SWEET! :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

IC184 - Coco Luxe Teapot

Hey and Happy Saturday! I SO love weekends...gives me a chance to just hang out and stamp at leisure. I made this card for today's inspiration challenge on Splitcoast. I chose the picture of the gorgeous chocolates with the teapots on them. I tried to keep the color scheme the same. It's hard to see but I put a strip of razzleberry lemonade paper in the middle for a little POP of color. :)

I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. Tomorrow we start for the previews for the Little Paper Shop new releases so stay tuned!

Dollar Find Friday - Earrings

Welcome to Dollar Find Friday! It's my turn to host the challenge this week. Now, before I go on with my post, you should know that we don't have "dollar stores" in the area I live, but we have Targets and the wonderful Target "dollar spot"! I had to get creative with this post! I found a pair of earrings in the dollar spot that I repurposed into an embellishment!

I used a scissors to remove the hook...

...and added just the wooden circle piece to the card like a grommet...

I used the new set from There She Goes called Acts of Kindness for the image and sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my find! :) Enjoy!

SASSC19 - So Happy...

...that it's almost Friday! :) This has been a LONG week at work. I'm going back and amending tax returns from 2007 and 2008. FUN! Actually, tax returns aren't that bad for me. It's sort of like being a detective in a way...trying to figure out each piece of a large puzzle. However, it is mentally draining on me to do it for days on end.

Anyways, this is for today's sketch challenge over at the Stamps and Smiles blog. If you have time, head over and check it out!

Enjoy and thanks for stopping! :)

Stay tuned for some REALLY good blog candy to be posted in the next couple of days.

LPSC19 - Just a Note

For today's Little Paper Shop challenge we're supposed to use Bashful Blue, Ruby Red, and Cameo Coral. Okay, I will admit I cringed a little when I saw the colors. BUT they are beautiful together! When I saw the blue I immediately thought of this set called {Chirp} because of all the lovely blue birds I've been seeing around my house lately. Once again, I used Jen's sketch for you to try this week because I LOVE it...

So, if you have time to play along in the challenge be sure to link it up at the Little Paper Shop blog for your chance to win two digital images of your choice! :)

SFYTT - Relax...

This is me on a Sunday...lol! Not really...but I wish! I made this card for Jen's sketch for you to try this week. Yet another great sketch! :) Of course I had to use some of SU's new In Colors for this year. I'm so NOT a purple person, but the Rich Razzleberry is a beautiful shade of violet! I used Rejuvenate from There She Goes for the image and sentiment on the card.

I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday so far...see you later! :)

WSC84 - Life is Good!

I made this for this weeks weekend sketch challenge hosted by Laurie. I love the sketch! I used my previously uninked Day at the Beach set from Papertrey Ink. I love the tone of the gorgeous new Crushed Curry cardstock. It's somewhere around the color of Summer Sunrise but maybe a little more gold. The "brownish" cardstock is Soft Suede along with the matching ribbon. I cut a piece of kraft cardstock out of the same size Nestability as the white circle, and tore it down to make it look like sand. :)

Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

TECC71 - Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday! Here in Minnesota today it is cold and rainy. Jeff (DH) and I went out and had a nice lunch and then went grocery shopping. I still have quite a few things I need to get done around the house today, but I had to take a break to make a card. This is for Taylor's weekly sketch challenge and Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge. I used the (new to me) anniversary set from Papertrey Ink called Everyday Classics. I like this set a lot more than I expected I would. The fonts are really nice.

The papers are new...if you can't tell, I got my NEW catalog order from SU. The melon mambo is VERY similar to Raspberry Fizz, but not *quite* as bright. Still a very beautiful pink! The DP is from the Razzleberry Lemonade package...now THAT is some gorgeous DP! :)

I hope you are having a great day, and I will see you soon with more weekly sketch challenges! :)

SASSC18 - Hello...

Hey! So for today's sketch challenge card over at the Stamps and Smiles blog, I decided to try a new technique. Okay, so new for me anyway...

I decided that I'm not going to overthink my card-making. Do you ever sit down to make a card and just pick the h#ll out of it? Seriously, it's gotten ridiculous with me. Everytime I make a card I spend more and more time thinking about every teeny tiny detail that I spend HOURS on one card, only to not even like it when I'm done! This card was different, I think it took me 20 minutes and I didn't even think about it. I picked out the DP first, then just ran with it. On the main image, I found a tiny fleck of ink and normally I would've trashed it and started over, but not this time! I didn't overthink the Copic colors, or ribbon. I grabbed the first ribbon I thought may work and stuck with it. Then I started panicking about the circle shapes for the sketch. Then I just thought, well maybe for this one I will just pop out some circles and be done with it! LOL!

So anyways, that's my long-winded card story! I hope you enjoy it and if you get a chance go check out the sketch challenge today.

Thanks for stopping by!

LPSC18 - Father

Hey! Happy Monday! Today's Little Paper Shop challenge is hosted by Allison and she created this *ahem* challenging sketch challenge! Once I got it done, I realized it wasn't SO bad, but it is definitely not something I would've come up with on my own. I used Bound by the Heart for this card, and directed towards a Father's Day theme. The paper is from the SU To the Nines DSP pack. I really like the artichoke color but don't use it enough.

The sentiment reads "A Father holds a childs hands for awhile but holds their hearts forever."

I tried to keep the card as masculine as possible and kept the ribbons to a minimum. I added some buttons and brads to finish it off.
Be sure to check out the Little Paper Shop blog for the sketch and play along for your chance at 2 digital images of your choice!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday! :)
